Sitting on the cool beetle sculpture outside the insectarium
No, that's not a misspelling! The STL Zoo has a nifty exhibit featuring 16 lifesize anamatronic dinosaurs & of course we had to go. I managed to keep it a secret from Max until right before we walked into the section of the zoo where it was located. Max saw the sign with dinos on it & got excited, asking what it said. When I told him the zoo had some dinos just like the Science Center, it was all I could do to keep him from running headlong down the trail. (Since it was about halfway through the River's Edge section, it would have been a long run!) Here are some of his favorites.
Dilophosaurus - this one spits water at you!
The real one spit poison! Yuck!
Dimetrodon
T-Rex
As soon as we walked out of the exhibit, Max decided he wanted to look "just for one more minute". Since this is a special (=$$) exhibit I told him he would have to pay for us to get back in. Then he saw a dinosaur mask & he said he would rather spend his money on that & we could see the dinosaurs again on another day.
Max pretending to be a T-Rex & eating his favorite cobra statue.

Hey - we were just at the zoo on the 21st as well! Weird that we didn't run into each other.... Did you go on the 3d ride thing at the end of dinoraurus? It's been awhile since I've been jerked around like that...
dinotastic! that was a LOT of beans.
Loved catching up with you guys...guess it's been awhile! Max is looking so much older....losing that toddler look about him. Loved the Jorn/Jack entry!
